In 2005 as President of the Home Builders Association of Central NM Steve Hale was Founding Member of Build Green NM a Green Building  program that certifies homes and educates builders and homeowners about the advantages of building and living in "Certified Green Homes"

2007 won award for Su Casa Magazine's "Green Home of the year"

Strong advacate for incentives and increased mandates regarding sustainable home construction and development.
